Default lots of symptoms . . .

gauge was never accurate, still isn't. Would show a full tank of gas after driving 200+ miles. It would show an empty tank after filling up and then driving a few miles. Running out of gas when you should have 10+ gallons in the tank. Then getting to a gas station and filling up to discover the car only took 4 gallons! lol

Those are just some of the annoyances of almost an even dozen FSU's being replaced.

Default How about this.... car runs fine in a straight line but as soon as I turn the wheel while...

accelerating it throws an EPC + Check Engine and it feels EXACTLY as if it were cutting off fuel. It had happened in the past and they replaced the throttle body but it feels EXACTLY like fuel shut down.

If I knew the fuel pumps operated on the same hydraulic (sp?) system as the steering I could bet money that that's it !

Any ideas?

Interesting discussion.

My fuel sending unit died several months ago leaving me stranded in Jacksonville. It was quickly replaced and the car now runs perfectly.

As a separate issue, my fuel guage has at times acted as describe by everyone, ie, it has a mind of its own and tells me nothing about the amount of gas in the tank.

What is the relationship between the fuel guage and the fuel sending unit?

Default An extremely strong smell of gas...

...but in my case, the gasket blew entirely. My service rep said that she could replace the unit and gasket, but that that the best way to remedy the problem was with a new gas tank!

I said, "hey, whatever it takes."
