Thoughts of Haldex oil change every 30K miles? Do we really need it?

I remember reading someone that drained their Haldex oil after 30K miles and it looked as clean as the day they put it in. It is not not all that costly around here- $150.00 or so, but if I don't need it until every 50K miles I could do that. Any thoughts?

The standard Haldex maintenance was done by the dealer during my 2-year service even though I am way under the 20k mileage amount.
FWIW, I am a big believer in flushing/changing all fluids at their recomended/prescribed intervals or sooner as in the long run, I think it is better for the internal components and really helps with their longevity.

SofTTware is right. It is a warranty service, @20k. So why not let you're dealer do it? I agree that typically it IS better to perform oil service more frequently than specified by the manufacturer. But for reasons I won't go into here, I didn't have the dealer do it. I did it myself at 30k and the oil was "as clean as the day it was put in". I decided a 50-60k interval was more than adequate. UPDATE: I've reconsidered this point and am performing the oil change (but not the filter) at the 20k interval. The cost of replacing the unit, and the worrisomely small volume of oil it carries, suggest that the more frequent interval is prudent. Check TOF for my response to the "HACK THS" post dated 8/21/03. See "I did the oil change on my haldex unit" under Russ_Scott for my explaination (and comments on the filter/screen too).
