Default Ticket

Managed to get a speeding ticket for going 78 in a 55. I've gone to court before for tickets where I was going 15 miles above the limit, and had the points and ticket dropped (no points on my license right now, or in the past 10 years or so). I was just curious how many people have had the same success when going 23 miles over the limit (major highway). Thanks.

Default I got tagged for 86 in a 65 on I78 in NJ....

Got off because the trooper never had his 5th wheel calibration done for the pace that month. If he had..he'd have known I was going in excess of 110 ;-)

Default Not a problem. When you go in for your court date>

go and see the court attorney. I'll bet for a fact that you will get your ticket cut in half. Points at least and the fine will remain the same.

You plead guilty and they plea bargain down the charges.

I'm an x cop and also have a few point of my own. :-)

Default really? I've got 2 court dates for 2 tix I got in 1 week >>

82 in a 55 (highway).
the bad one is a 65 in a 35.

the highway one i thought the speed limit was 55 and I was passing a truck that was dumping dirt on me... pulled over.

the 65 in a 35 was a doozie. i was being bad. it was an open road and i opened the car up.. it was right after my stage III install and literally the 1st time I hit the gas... and of course i got caught. almost immediately. iahte massachusettes. It was a speed trap.. lots of other cars getting pulled over. lidar.

what do you recommend?

Default I got a ticket on 78 also but I beat it. Request from the court the cop's training records and the

record of the calibration of the radar unit. The cop has to calibrate the unit at the beginning of his shift and if it is used during the shift and it has to be logged. He also has to have formal training and an annual refresher on how to use the equipment.
I got nailed in my Fiero by a cop way up on the median west of 287. He was so far away he couldn't see my license plate. In court I asked him how he identified my car he said it was black. I told him I saw a black Firebird get off 78 between the cops position and where I was stopped. The judge threw it out.

Default Every state may be diff. but in NJ that is how most things fall into place. Plea guilty>

and plea bargain down. The court is happy, the state is happy and you go home sometimes happy.
