Tire Pressure Question

Tire Pressure Question
I just replaced my OEm bridgestones with Toyo T1S tires. The bridgestones lasted 16K miles. The installer of the Toyos suggested that I run them at 40psi in front and 37 in the rear, much higher than the pressure suggested by Audi.
Any thoughts or suggestions?

I run higher psi's on my Kumho's as well ...
I run 38 upfront and 36 in the rears ...
I tend to carry some cargo so that's one of the reasons for the higher psi's. I monitor my tires frequently and haven't noticed any unusual wear - I have just over 9k miles on my set now.

Re: Seems much too high to me. Did he say why?
I was very good about keeping my tires pressures at 36-front, 33-rear. He felt that the tires wore out quickly at those pressures and would do better at higher pressures.
By the way, I really like the Toyos so far. Quiet with good handling, but then anything would be better than bald bridgestones.

Re: I run higher psi's on my Kumho's as well ...
I'm running 40psi in my winter tires-makes them happy and less squirmy. I run 38 in my sumers. Reasoning-besides the sharper turn-in- is I run my car a bit on the hard side, and this keeps the temps down.
