bridgestone pole position 225/45/17, the dealership balanced and mounted my new tires. when i checked the cold tire pressure the next morning the back tires were inflated at 28psi and 30 psi. audi suggestion is 33psi for the back tires. when replacing a new tire should it have been inflated properly before balancing? how do i know if the tire has been balanced? what should have been done by the dealership for proper tire installation?

If the tires were mounted at 70 deg and it was 40 or less when you checked, the decrease is not far off.
I'd inflate them and check after a few days to make sure they're holding air.

if you think they might be leaking. To be precise, note the air temp. when you check them.
If one or more tires is 1-2 psi lower every day (with similar air temps) then it's time to go back to the dealer. That's rare with new tires.
As you know, driving increases the pressure as the tire warms the air within. You might check 'em cold, then after driving for some miles, especially at highway speeds. On a 40 degree morning (like here today), I'd expect to see 4-5 psi increase after some 65 mph driving. All this is normal.

the sunny side and the shady side. Also believe it or not my oems were leaking air until I put on those TT valve stem caps. Now there holding fine.

finding the leak location would be important.
It could be: valve stem area (most likely IMO) tires or wheels.
To check the valve stem area, remove the cap, and put a little water/liquid soap mix into the valve stem. Look for bubbles. Do the same thing around the area where the valve stem goes into the wheel.
Did the tire installer replace the valve stems when the new tires were installed?
When the old tires were removed, the inner part of the valve stem (core) was unscrewed to let the air our easily. If the old stems were reused (probably not a real good idea), the installer may not have tightened the core properly. You'll see a bubble if this is the case.
IMO, if you see any leaking around the valve stems, I'd go back to the installer for a fix at their expense.
