Default Took 225QC into dealer today for the 'diverter valve' fix...interesting discussions..(more)

Service advisor most attentive and appreciate the print outs of various forum posts on subject of DV and resonance. The head ('Shop Foreman') Audi mechanic went with me for a spin since he was interested in driving/noise characteristics...AMULETT will be the first DV retro the dealer has done so he wanted to make sure of what I was describing...he also has been 'downloading' TT forum posts on the subject..this guy is good. During drive had interesting discussion about DV, how it ACTUALLY functions, where it is located, why it exists etc (I will post more on that later), but more importantly he suggested that three of my observations about the car's driving characteristics could all be driven by a spring fault in diverter valve:
-Resonance at 2700-3200 rpm (mine is now also doing it at around 1800 and 4500 rpm)
-Mild surging in 2nd and 3rd gear when not accelerating aggressively...just sort of cruzin'..feels like the engine is going between accel and deaccel...not bad but irritating
-Something that started recently...when doing a 1-2-3 shifts and pushing the rpms past 6000 the moment of shifting there is a sudden/abrupt power drop (turbo boost fall off)until the clutch is let out and as engine rpms gain spooling up the turbo and then back on to power. The feeling is like dumping a clutch without having enough engine speed.

Shop Foreman has taken an interest in the DV problem and said he will get the right answers (mechanically speaking)and correct whatever.

I post results (hopefully) tomorrow.<p><img SRC="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/AudiWorldPics/2000/tttiny.JPG" BORDER=0>

I have the same color in 225QR and the same problem.here's the story from the factory rep.yes there is problem with valve the new parts are not in the USA as of Monday.the dealer can install your bad value in backwards to cut down on some of the noise.if the dealer has order the new part make sure it has a G in the part #.
