Default Took out my instrument cluster and sending it to BBA tomorrow.

While taking it out, I confirmed why I do maintenance/repair work myself. The left screw tab on the cluster is broken off. The cluster has drooped for as long as I can remember. Its only being held up with the clips at the top and one screw. Someone broke off the tab and didn't want to replace the cluster. It was either during manufacturing or at the dealer. Grrrr.

Anyhow, I'll let you know how the cluster fix goes.

Default How difficult was it to remove?

I have odd cold-weather behavior with my airbag light and occasional lazy tach and I'm thinking I want to check that the connectors are fully seated.

Default Not bad. You need to partially remove the lower dash (5 screws and tug).

The cluster is only held in by 2 screws (1 in my case). There are 3 cable connectors with ZIF socket type clips. Hard to explain, but easy to remove.

After figuring out that I needed to remove the lower dash and checking the Bentley for directions, it only took about 15 minutes.
