Default I'm a different generation, so I had the Z32 300ZX :)

but I loved that car and it was a blast to drive. I've considered picking one up as a track car.

Default I bought a 71 in '75 and had a 510 2-door to rallye. Did extensive mods. Still have the "bible"...

which was a book "How to Modify 510, 610, and 240Z". I thought it was a great handling car (compared to some of the British cars I'd had) until the first time I put it on the racetrack in Ft. Worth. There, I found it understeered like a pig. By the time I got rid of the Z to go to motorcycles, I had done the following:
headlight covers, C-production flares front and rear, 3-piece rear spoiler (trans=am homologated), entire front air dam, mesh grille, louvered battery/washer covers, backlight louver, rollbar from a Japanese 432Z (the orig fairlady with a 2-liter 6cyl and non-overdrive 5 speed), Datsun competition springs, shocks, struts, and swaybars with heim end links, three 40mm Weber DCOEs, BRE 311 cam, Hooker headers and 3" single exh to Corvair Turbo muffler or bolt-on stinger pipe; bigger radiator, RAID steering wheel, Corbeau GT8 race seat and Paddy Hopkirk rally seat for passenger, full harnesses, Wink mirror, Western Cyclone blacked out wheels and nice big fat tires. It was a LOT of fun til gas hit $1/gal. Then Peggy said "you're going to have to park that thing and get a motorcycle or something." Thus began the next chapter of adventures...
