Default transmission problem

Hello,

I just bought a used 2000 180 Quattro TT (20 000 miles) and I have the impression that I have a problem with my transmission. When I start the car in the morning, it is difficult to put the car in Reverse or 1st gear. It still happen from time to time when the car is warm (for example at the light I have sometimes to press depress the clutch to put the car in 1st). Furthemore, I have difficulty going from 1st to 2nd or 3rd to 2nd when the car is cold. The transmission is grinding almost every morning when he leave the house. I brought the car to the Audi dealer and they said they could not find anything wrong. I also brought the car to AAMCO and they also told me nothing was wrong. I guess this is the typical catch 22 problem when the problem seems to disappear when you need it to be here.

Anyway, has any of you experienced this problem? What actions did you take to solve it?

Thanks,

Alexandre

Default Sometimes you need to let the car warm up a bit...

that happens to me on occation, especially when it is cold outside. Usually you should let the car sit and warm up for a min or two. Once I start moving and shifting a little it loosens right up. While moving... shifting to 1st will always be difficult

Default This note in an European Mag describes a problem with a 225

It may not exactly pertain to your problem, but it could give a hint.<ul><li><a href="https://forums.audiworld.com/tt/msgs/335858.phtml">tranny problems</a></li></ul>
