Default Transmission whine

Anybody got a whine in the transmission? Ever since they replaced the tranny on my FWD, there's a whine that changes with engine RPM. My dealer says it's within specs. Admittedly it isn't very loud. Kinda sounds like a siren far away. I'm afraid there's something wrong with the input side of the transmission. Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Ron

Default Re: Transmission whine

It could be the synthetic tranny oils that they might have used instead of the original fluid. It is known to cause a slight humming or maybe in your case whining. By the way, I want to know what happened with your original tranny? What was wrong with it and how did you get the dealer to replace your tranny? I have the 180 fwd TTR and I am pissed off at the way my tranny is shifting. It is hard to get into 1st 2nd and Reverse. It sometimes grinds and crunches while shifting into reverse. I know that this is not normal and they had replaced the clutch and flywheel and fluids (changed to synthetic). I am hoping they will give me a new tranny soon. They know that there is a problem, but they fail to correct it. Let me know how you did it and what happened? Thanks and I hope this message helps?
