Default Trunk racket update: 6 pics (one gratuitous...)

I just hate this! We should be out driving!
<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/53277/dscn2138.jpg">

everything's tight, and I re-torqued - I guess the extra hole is for the shock seat alignment, since no evidence of ever having had a fastener in it:
<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/53277/dscn2140.jpg">

there is contact between the filler tube and the wheel well - still a possibility - makes a sound, just doesn't seem like enough to be the source:
<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/53277/dscn2141.jpg">

Swaybar has shifted slightly to the right, and it's connector contacts the lower shock mount:

Last two shots show cracked bushings. Grrr - only been in a year! But is this a problem, and could it actually be the source, since there's really no movement in the assembly?

thanks, all!

Default I forgot you had a FWD.....Plus....>

The bushings aren't cracked, so rule that out. They come split so you can get them over the bar.

I'd pull the shocks and check all the bushings top and bottom. Since the shocks are pressurized, it may be impossible to rule this out while they're on the car...

Also, checked for a loose/failed heim joint on the sway bar links.

Default ok; my bad memory, and I had an installer do that >

Like someone's post the other day, btw, I did notice a bit of bleed when I was lowering last weekend. Thanks - and they've only been in a year too...$$$

And it's hard to believe that the connector contacting the lower shock mount is GOOD!

it's ALWAYS looked like a cheap design - should have a 1/4 " plate bracket...

Then there is that filler pipe deal... don't know about that!

Default My plan is to cable-tie it off of the wheel shroud; if it stops, I'll make a >

permanent fix (don't have enough bubble gum...).

Shimmed the shroud out of contact, so we'll see. Still not optimistic.

Default What am I checking for - sheared, compressed? They're both still present >

and things are tight. This isn't behaving like a failed shock, but then again, my experience with that is 25 years ago on OEM Fords and such...
What's a recommendation for a manufacturer for rear - not Bilstein, I know - but Koni?
