Trying to figure out what is wrong with Pauls (TTowsonTT) car and
it is a strange bird indeed..
1st gear car seems to be normal in power delivery (although it might be hard for me to judge what a stock turbo feels like) =-P
Anyway, in any other gear, the car will boost up to about 3k rpm and then a whooshing (loss of air) sound occurs and all power dies.....
If you pull through the gear lightly (i.e. not hard boost, the car will not make the whooshing sound)
Pulled the car in and checked it on the VAG and got these codes.
2 DTC's Found:
17956 - Boost Pressure Regulation Valve (N75): Open Circuit
35-10 - - - Intermittent
17963 - Charge Pressure: Maximum Limit Exceeded
35-10 - - - Intermittent
There was no CEL though which is weird.
Now, the N75 install could be suspect (as Paul DID install it himself but it was running fine for quite a while, and now it is not. Install does not seem to be the problem.
We are going swap out the N75's and also check for leaks since there is a rather obvious whooshing sound, but if anyone had any pointers on the above codes, we would appreciate it.

Check the lower left (by manifold) hose for boost leak
aka mine, Julie's Robs etc. Seems to be a reg occurance now. I also removed my N75 (race) as I am seeing peaks of 21-24psi with "X" c

Did you also check the hoses connected to the DV?
Once I didn't put the side hose on good and it popped off. There were similar symptoms. I assume you already checked the DV, but thought I would chime in just in case.
