Default I was never a fan of the dampers myself. Saw one broke on Dad-in-law's Mazda Van. Maybe that's when

auto tranny is a good thing because the engine stopped spinning soon enough before damage occurred - compared to a manual with a direct link to spinning drivetrain.

Default oic, well when I read it I saw the word "perforance" and I thought to myself...

that can't be good. Thought you were just poking fun at me.

At this point, I don't think it can't get any worse than what the dealership was doing.

Do you know this particular tuner?
I've heard folks on A4 forum dog him.
I've worked with him personally.

So far he has called me 3 times a day for updates, he is haggling with my extended warranty co. to cover what my insurance company won't cover. Anything to make sure I come out on top.

This is exactly what the dealership thinks is a waste of time and rather than look out for my best interest they put back the old pump and old tensioner back on the car and everything else that should have been replaced on a perfectly well maintained car.

Audi could learn a thing a took from that kid.
If he ***** up my car, I can live with knowing he was trying his best rather than have stealer who should be competent enough to fix it in the first do the same thing because they could give a sh*t.

I'm crossing my fingers (though I have a good feeling that it will finally work out).
If it doesn't, I'm getting a Cayenne turbo or Cayman.

Thanks for all your help, as usual, always appreciated. (To think you were once banned from this place :::shakes head::

Default i'm *shocked* you'd be a fan of this....

that's old school. but i personally wouldn't do it on my 1.8T. sure it'll work, but if you're TwisTTer, would you wanna rely on some mechanic who probably wasn't even born when VW started using a simiar roller on watercooled 4s to set the tension correctly? i wouldn't do it. a lot of thought and calculations went into the choice of hydraulic tensioner damper specs, and I like the fact that I can pull the pin and never think about it again for the next 60k miles. and do you think many of the dampers are failing within 60k? i doubt it. maybe 0.000000001%, if that.

in summary, who the hell hacked into your AW account?
