My son has a '00 TT coupe. It has beautiful black paint except the doors. They are noticably lighter colored (grey) than the rest of the car. Also on the hood there are a couple wide faint greyish stripes that are kind of faded looking but still shiney. We've buffed the hell out of it and it still has a definite contrast. Has anyone seen this condition?? Thanks for any opinions, Chris

That's a new one on me. Is it possible that it was repainted and the old color is slightly visible?

but fading within a panel should not occur. Where are the stripes on the hood located?

It's not like it was repainted. Why would just the doors (both doors) be a different color from the rest of the car. Could it be that at the factory the body is painted in a separate operation from the doors and a slightly different color was used??
