Default TT BOSE System

Does anyone feel the BOSE option is worth while?

I have it and like it but then I did not compare it to a non-BOSE system as there were no others around. I know for a fact that a colleagues A6 standard Concerto system is really weak in the bass but in my TT the BOSE is fine for my purposes...but then I don't listen to heavy rock a lot either.

I like mine fine. Home theater-phile, but not car audio-phile. Some like extreme bass.

Default This is a frequently debated topic....

In my opinion, the Bose is such a rip off that Audi should be embrassed to maintain it as an option. I am not used to fancy stereos, although I do appreciate them.

I have a base Pontiac Sunfire today while my TTQ is in for service (for the fourth time in the three months that I've had it). The Sunfire has a *base* GM stereo -- not even a cassette player -- yet its sound rivals the TT's $1200 Bose system.

It is not entirely a matter of bass (in fact I think the Bose sounds acceptable playing the types of bass you find in some techno, for example). Even the treble in the TT sometimes sounds shrill and hollow.

The two don't compare (Vette version being much better). But I would have to say that I am satisfied with the system in my TTQ coupe. However, those of you waiting for the Roadster, with the top down, the system may not be up to the task... (Just my opinion)

I have ordered the bose but wish I had not.I wish I put in my own head unit, amp, base tube and cd player and less cost.

When I finally listened to it I was vey disapointed but it was for only a few hours and I did not have my own CDs so maybe I am being unfair to the BOSE. But you could get your own system which sounds as good for less money.

The Bose is okay - but for the money you can do much better with an after market setup.
