Default TT coupe owners.....I need your advice please.

I am currently driving a 2001 A4 tip 1.8t. I was looking to get a 225 TT coupe next month as my next car. I had some interest in the new 250 hp TT that is coming next month but i really want a 6 speed tranny. I plan to lease this car for 3-4 years. I would like to know if I would regret leasing this car for that long of a time. Would the car lose it's fun factor and praticality. I am married and have no kids but may in a few years so the backseat would only have a baby seat if needed. Your comments would weigh very strong in my decision. Oh, my second choice is an 2004 S4 but my payments would be about $180 more a month with money down. I think the S4 will be greatly improved in the next couple years so I may hold of on that one. Sorry for the long post but for me this is a very important decision for me.

Default Buy a 225. No question. Just bought mine (had an A4 also) and I love it. I wouldn't mess with the V6

TT.

You can get a GREAT deal right now on '03s, like everyone said. GO!

Plus...turbo is more fun, and the new 3.2s won't be faster.

Default Do you like turbos, or do you like torque?

Easy decision. Which car do you like better, the A41.8T or the A4 3.0V6? IF you like the 1.8T, then go with the 225 TT. If you prefer the feel of the V6, then go for the new 3.2. The cars are equally fast, plus or minus a small bit. The new transmission is supposed to be great, so I wouldn't let that get in the way.

Good Luck,

2001 225QC Amulet Red
2004 3.2QC Black(on order)
2001A4 3.0 V6

Default Kids & Lease...

I plan on having kids within a year, and I just bought my TT. The backseat is the perfect size for them. It might be a bit difficult getting them in and out, but as long as its not your main child transportation vehicle, you're ok. I have a Grand Cherokee for that..

Also, if you lease you can't really mod. Modding can help to make the car more exciting if it starts to get boring. Get a used TT which still has a warranty, thats what I did, and then you can afford to buy and not lease. I was able to find a 2001 225 coupe with 11k miles for $27k just last month.

Default the A4Q is okay...

but the TTQ is way more fun. Had the A4 for the weekend, could'nt wait to get back to the TT. TT's are practical cars. My wife was not in love with it until she started driving it, now it seems to be hers more then mine...Next car is another TT roadster for her.

Default No loss in fun factor after 2.5 yrs

You're not going to be able to fit any type of rear facing seat in the back w/ the front passenger losing all leg space. Even then it will be a tight fit. But once your child can sit in a forward facing seat, you'll be fine...and to add to that, once your child can get into a booster seat, even better.

my 3.5 yrd old rides in the back all the time in my coupe.
