I believe Consumer Reports rates products based on incentives received.

For another misguided review, read Dan Heraud's review on MSN.

Default I think it was accurate. I do love our TT. But had waaay too many problems in the first 10K

It has been quiet for the last 6K. Still little minor problems that show up from time to time - windows that go down instead of up when you shut the door. The computer that decides to reset itself every few months. Climate control that, once in a while, decides not to go into Automatic mode. The infamous CD whine is still there despite several attempts to fix.

Perhaps a 'car to avoid' is a bit drastic, but these are not the most reliable car on the road.

No one, including myself, wants to own a 'car to avoid'. It certainly doesn't help resale value. Even if forum members do not agree with CR or do not read the magazine, there are many many consumers that do and take their word for gold. I'm sure if CR said it was a 'best buy', car of the year, or whatever, everyone would say that it was accurate.

CR's reliability data comes from consumers, not tests. They just compile used car data from the annual questionnaire and report it.

When I was buying my pick-up, they gave it poor ratings because it drives like a truck. 'Nuff said!

Default CR actually knows less about cars than Martha Stewart proclaims to know about insider trading...

Check the archives on Consumer Reports. IMHO, they never forgave Audi after the whole unintended acceleration debacle (read: farce) back in the '80s.

Man, is this Dan Heraud a sucky driver? He has a 0 to 60 time of 7.5 seconds? That's the worst time I've seen in just about every publication of that number. My sources include: MotorTrend, Car and Driver, CAR, Automobile, and Audi's official stats. These times range from 6.0 to 6.6. How do you gte 7.5???
