Default TT and TT Roadster news...

Some interesting highlights for the 2001 model year:

TT and TT Roadster
All TTs built before May 1 will not have ESP. All cars AFTER May 1 will have ESP standard.

Sounds like that's the magic Week 18 time frame.

Default It comes from the sales manager of a local dealership...

And I have the faxes and pages sitting right here.

Default So the only thing to do is to ask people being delivered their TT's these days...

Mine was built on week 7 and has ESP. I'm in France but I don't understand why they would do that to US customers, the biggest market. Especially if they have to recall the cars to retrofit ESP at high cost.
My opinion is you will have ESP. Sales managers are not aware of everything. I had a bad info concerning my TT from Audi-France as well.

Default Why it is possible and even likely that Audi would put ESP on some earlier than others...

There are a bunch of variations on a car assembly line: options, improvements in the process, improved hardware or software that requires a change in procedure, country-specific changes.

Given that, it does not seem unlikely that Audi would start putting ESP on May 1 and later US TT's but started with week 1 on French TT's.

Now, I suspect that the 12 hours from midnight Mondays to noon, the assembly line in Gyor is set up for Canadian TT's with the extra front bumper blisters (no offense, that's what they look like to me!) and then changed for two hours to make French TT's with different catalytic converters etc. Get my point?

Whaddya think?
