Highly subjective subject of course - and bias of course, but......<ul><li><a href="http://www.986.org/boards/986/main.pl?read=487723">TT vs. Boxster</a></li></ul>

There's a Boxster parked in my office lot today, I was looking at in when I got here...
Sorry, but I think that car is ugly. They don't look bad with a hardtop, but the convertible I think is ugly.

some of the folks had nice things to say....
i personally thing that porsche dropped the ball by making the boxter and the new 911 (cant remember the new call letters) look too much the same for the big price difference.

Well, personally I think the TT Coupe is way better looking then the Boxster, but
the TT Roadster not as nearly so. I'm not a big fan of roadster looks, feeling that a coupe lines flow better. But what is important is how YOU like/dislike your car's apprearence not how some other car owner feels.
As an 911 owner (almost - 28 days to go) I feel the Carrera Coupe is prettier then my TT Coupe - but that is not to say the TT is ugly. The cars have similar lines and both are gorgeous in their own way.
That's just MY opinion!

all I can say is...
I hope we do not seem that narrow minded and superficial to "outsiders". Provincial as hell comes to mind. I tried on a boxster when they first came out and I did not fit in the damn thing all that well. At the risk of getting flammed, they are comparing a Boxster s with a TT roadster. They should be comparing to a coupe because of the inherent performance deficiencies of any roadster.

In my opinion ...
I see the Audi TT as more the character car than it's competitors (S2000,Boxster, etc..), which for me the following reasons justified my purchase of the TT:
1)Design - It's design, while subjective, appealed to me. Flowing curves, graceful stance in my opinion form meets function. Everything about the TT is a piece of art and a bold step that has unquestionably inspired other auto manufacturers to follow.
2)Performance - Even with a Haldex setup, the TT is unmatched by it's competition in bad weather. It's 1.8T engine leaves much room for the aftermarket if more speed is desired. I have to agree that the Boxster S and the S2000 are more balanced pure sports cars out of the factory, but the TT's tuning potential and "bang for buck" can't be touched by the others.
3)Exclusivity - In my experience, there is a Boxster on every street corner while the TT is still a genuine looker.
Just my thoughts.
Mario.
