Somebody stole my TT valve stem caps then used a knife to pry the TT emblem off the rear bumper cover. The paint where the emblem was is totally peeled up and there are numerous deep scratches where the knife bit into the paint. My car was in a parking garage in downtown West Palm Beach when it happened between 9:30AM and 10AM this morning. Judging by the size of the finger prints, I'd have to speculate that it was done by kids.
I know others on the forum have had this happen to them. I was wondering what other victims have done to repair this: repainted the damaged area or replaced the entire cover. I received an estimated of $996 to replace the rear bumper cover, which is probably what I'll end up doing because I don't want any reminders of this incident. I'll see what my insurance company (Nationwide) is willing to pay tomorrow.
One thing is for certain though: I'm not going to put the TT or Quattro emblem back on my car.
It's a cruel world we live in.
