Default TT180 vs 225

Basic question...what are the differences between the 180 and 225 versions? Bigger turbo? More boost? Different exhaust? Different software? What would it take to build a 180 up to a 225? There are lots of used 180s for sale, but not many 225s.

Default Apples and Oranges -

Many things you can do to get engine/engine management/suspension up to 225, but Quatro is the major difference. I have a 180 due to price/money/long commute issues(and wife's influence!), but I love the bigger trunk and better gas mileage. About my only regret with driving the 180, is the lack of the 6-speed... The car is great until 60 mph, then I feel like I want to shift again. The 225 is heavier-feeling(to me) around town, as well.

Older? If I go used I'd be looking for nothing older than 2001 with less than 20k miles.

Don't build a 180 to a 225... just get a 180 mix in APR Stage III and get instant 300HP

Default I have a 2000 180CQ with MK1 suspension and no spoiler...

I love this car and wouldn't trade for the 225. Though the 6 speed would be nice. hum...maybe find a VW in the bone yard.

Default Nice with no spoiler

It's very hot with no spoiler. I wish there wasn't so much work and required paint to remove the spoiler...much smoother lines without it....

Default Yeah, I chose not to do the 'recall' and my dealer still has the painted spoiler.

The service tech said that they would hold on to it for 5 years...just incase either i decided to have it installed or I trade it in.
