Hello all, I am confused (nothing new I know).

Just got a new turbo which has a whistle which comes in around 2500 rpm in each gear under load.

Having read many reports on turbo sounds I am confused as some say it's normal, to the degree of exhaust add ons for non turbo cars to make a whistle, while others talk about air leaks and even turbo spline damage.

I also understand that the car can apear be going well but this is due to the turbo working over time as it spins up to overcome the lack of boost (which will shorten it's life) and that the sound could be made by a bent or damaged turbo spline.

So at the moment my questions is,

Would you expect a whistle sound with a new turbo?

Any info please?
