Default Turkey Day Poll - What goes well with the bird? Wine Choices -

Turkey always presents a challenge as it has white meat but can stand up to red but it can't be an overwhelming red.

This t-day I am going with Pinot Noir and a light Cote du Rhone but in the past I have tried

Chianti/Sangiovese
Beaujolais - Morgon, Fluerie
Medium Zins
Big Chards
Pinot Blanc/Gris

If interested, what are you going with and what has worked in the past?

Have fun with your selections this holiday.

Default The Pinot Noir is a good choice. There are some great ones from OR.

Erath or Willakenzie Vineyards are good ones.

I'm bringing my own to Mom's. I don't like wine. I'm bringing some Moretti and Pilsner Urquel :-)

Default i think the pilsner urquel is a better choice for the bird than the moretti...

unless you're having a really strong dressing/stuffing/whatever-you-call-it... like, i think oyster d/s would be complimented well...

i dunno... just seems like it might overpower the bird, ya know?
