Two mod questions - one re radar detectors and one re phone mute
a) who's using radar detectors - looking for feedback on them, thinking about the Valentine 1 unit with remote but i'm an old fart that remembers when valentine left escort to set up his own shop
never really knew if the rumors about him being the brains behind escort were true
2) would love to find a rig or interface so that my cell phone would mute the Audi stock radio set whenever it rings
anyone accomplish this and live to tell about it?

1) The rumors are true, I have a Valentine One and haven't had a ticket since I made the purchase. It's worth the price.

You know, people say this all the time, as if you're actually going to find useful information....
... via AW's search tool. That engine is totally inconsistent, does not respond to rules (limit date, etc., do not work), and all he's going to get is a bunch of disjointed responses, with a possible overall review of said radar detectors being a needle in a haystack.
I'm not trying to bust on you specifically, nikhil, only trying to mention something that's been bugging me and is pretty prevalent on the forum (so no hard feelings - not trying to call you out). It's not like the discussion here is SO on-topic that it's a PITA for some regulars to answer simple questions (even if it is the dreaded "what's the best chip?"). The n00bs don't know yet!

but it is relatively simple to attempt a search on something like a radar
detector, where the search would yield results that satisfy larryccf's question...
as to the effectiveness of the search function, i agree that it is pretty bad, but with a topic that does come up so frequently, it is not difficult to find information...
