Default Why bother... Amsoil isn't really a competitor for one of the largest diversified petroleum and

energy companies in the world.

Default lol tell you what.... lets both drive the sh#t out of our cars and use our

favourite brand of motor oil and see what happens...having seen various trannies and motors that have used Redline in the past dissasembled you would be amazed at how good they looked...and these parts were abused... so go ahead use your mobil 1.... i myself will pay fractionally more money for a superior product and awhole lot more piece of mind...

Default You are incorrect, Mobil-1 trisyn is a synthetic, amsoil doesn't meet Audi requirements...

The Mobil-1 tri-syn is a "real" synthetic, and doesn't use a Group III basestock - it uses PAO, esters and alkylated aromatics, hence "tri-syn."

The new Supersyn formulation contains a new PAO basestock developed by Mobil, which has better characteristics than the prior one.

Call Mobil technical support (800-662-4525 then press 1) and ask them.

Finally, advising people to use amsoil (or Redline) is doing them a disservice, as it does NOT meet OEM specifications, which (in the US) require use of an API certified oil, which amsoil isn't. There's also the significant matter of amsoil's deceiptful (i.e. they lie) marketing.
