Update - after adding coolant and COMPLETELY covering electrodes no temp warning ICON
This is an update to my post of two days ago.
Even though the coolant was above the low line on the reservoir tank I was getting the flashing thermometer icon on the drivers info display on startup but only first thing in the morning.
I did notice however that only the tips of the two metal electrodes were contacting the liquid, they were not completely covered by the coolant.
I went to the dealer yesterday and they added about a pint of coolant to the reservoir so that the two electodes are now completely covered by the liquid.
This morning no flashing icon adding coolant appears to have solved the problem!!!!!

Thanks for the update; I've gotten this warning 3 times this week.
Do you think this is a design flaw? Seems all they would have to do is move those contacts a little further down in the reservoir, if the easy fix is simply adding more coolant.
Let us know if you get the warning again.

I have the same issue...
I read somewhere that the coolent sensor has been known to go bad with decent frequency. While I had it in the deal this past week, they said it was bad. They quoted me 100 to replace it, but I passed, I can live with a beep and flash when I turn the car on.
