Update on my Warranty Direct extended warranty coverage

I posted a few days ago about a few things that were not covered by my first Warranty Direct claim last Friday. I have their top of the line warranty. I spoke with WD customer service today and got these answers:
1. Sales tax not covered by warranty - WD coverage on sales tax varies by state. It is not covered in Nevada. The Audi extended warranty does include tax.
2. Diagnostic fees - WD covers these if they are reasonable. I have to admit that the dealer charging me $48 to verify what I told him (the windshield washer tank is cracked, I checked it myself) is unreasonable. Unfortunately my dealer is the only one in town. WD denied the diagnostic fee. The Audi warranty always covers fees.
3. Replacement fluids - My contract says any fluids replaced as a part of the component failure are covered. The WD rep told me that even so, washer fluid was not covered. I asked to speak to a supervisor who said it WAS covered but the part number provided to them for washer fluid was not listed on the WD Audi parts list so the claim was denied. I verified the number with my dealer and called WD again but WD said the dealer was wrong and refused to discuss it further. The Audi warranty would have covered this without argument.
The lesson is, if you get denial for any portion of the warranty work, get with the dealer cahsier and call the warranty provider together. Sometimes the denial is just a misunderstanding. The second lesson is that the Audi policy may be worth the extra bucks.

I was looking at a '99 996 and asked the price for a Porsche extended warranty. The dealer tells me he will give it to me at his cost which is a little over $4K. I went to another dealer and they tell me that the price for an extended Porsche warranty for a '99 996 is a little over $1700. These are both Porsche warranties on their certified cars. So then I call Porsche and ask them for the price, and they say it varies dealer by dealer. Hell, I already knew that.
The joys of buying a used car.
