Default Update on Window Issue from yesterday...

Well, I took off the door panel and noticed that I have to basically help the window go up by pulling the window switch up while also pushing the window up. However, the motor has no problem taking the window down.

Now, the window is aligned and everything is in place. Almost feels like the window motor doesnt have enough juice to get the window back up.
Is there a lift mechanism that I could replace or something?
Any thoughts...I hate to spend sooo much money at the dealership if I could somehow get this issue resolved myself.

Thanks so much...

Default Does it click while trying to go up?

There was an issue with Beetles that did this. My daughters got replaced at N/C a while back. Don't know if this might relate or apply to our TTs. Good luck.

If possible, check electrical contacts for corrosion. Is there a relay? Fuse? Check them also

Also try lubricating the regulator mechanism. Sounds like a bad motor though :-(. Sorry.

Default Ahh...that dang motor is 300.00 ...

I have not taken the passengers side panel off...Any chance the passenger is the same as drivers and I could swap motors? Or is that too easy to think about?

Crap...might just hve to have this thing up for awhile!

Thanks for responding!

Default AAARRRGGGHHH!!! What a DA! That happened to me once and it was the %&*@ switch in the door!

If you can, reverse the poles and see if the problem reverses as well. If it does, bad switch. You can also test this by removing the switch from the circuit and using a battery or power supply.

You can also use a piece of wire to jumper past the switch and see if that works.

What a dumb a$$ to forget that...

Default I had something like this

on my 5k - the window mechanism looks very similar. There's a cable that links the motor to the window, and in my case that cable was starting to get frayed. So, it moved easily in one direction, but was binding in the other. I ended up replacing the whole assembly (motor, cable, and everything the cable runs through).
