Default Here at work, I just rack mounted 2 Dell Poweredge 6350's and a 6400 and did it in two days...

..including the W2K build of all three boxes, the network configuration, the whole nine yards. They have really improved their racking BTW. Very nice "plug-and-play" stuff now.

Default I'm going to eat your lunch with my new 2400....

...dual proc, Pentium 3, 866 Mhz, 256MB RAM....except I know it takes all of that to run W2K as fast as your stinking Red Hat box. :-P Whistler will be a whole diffferent story I think.

Default We're Dell for workstations, laptops, and some file servers - awesome equipment!

But our production web servers are mostly Sun E250s and E450s running Solaris.

I use a Dell Inspiron 3700 notebook shuttled between work and home. I love it because I always have my stuff with me plus I got to have my DVD player with me for flying.

Re: Now all you need is a decent storage system like EMC's Symmetrix line.

Default To be considered a real OS it needs real software that real people actually use in the real world :)

A webserver running php, mysql and a few cron jobs just doesn't pass.

Default Or Compaq fibre array...

We're using the MA8000 for NT/Win2K and MTI Gladiator/Sun StorEdge T3 for Solaris. 169 terabytes!

StorEdge T3
