Hopefully the 42DD sounds nice.. Im not really a fan of the APR sound

Default It's the same reason why velocity stacks are built into the compressor inlet which necks down to

about a 1.75inch inlet. Larger intake plumbing reduces backpressure or better word would be vacuum to the turbo inlet. This negative pressure is what changes the pressure ratio the turbo will be operating at.

So ideal turbo intake would be just a big velocity stack but since we need a MAF and a filter, making all that tubing larger will help volume flow with less pressure. Like sipping coke with a single straw vs a Bubba drink straw The negative of larger volume plumbing is lag, and in this case is MAF response vs demand. But that delay should be so subtle.

My intake plumbing eats the stock one. The stock MAF is my only restriction there.
