Default Vag-Com experts???

As I was pulling out of my office parking garage my car had a loss of engine power and a rough idle. Within a minute while I was waiting at the light the idle smooth out to normal. I ran a Vag on it when I got home and this is the only fault that came up.

Address 17: Instruments
Part No: 8N1 920 980 A
Component: KOMBI+WEGFAHRS. M73 D04
Coding: 07244
Shop #: WSC 00000
TRUWT28N521033852 AUZ5Z0B4146046

1 Fault Found:
01314 - Engine Control Module
49-10 - No Communications - Intermittent

Can seems to be running fine. I cleared the fault, so I can see if it comes back tomorrow. Any thoughts what caused this fault? TIA

I think it might be the KOMBI+WEGFAHRS.

How old is your battery? And are the connections solid/clean?

Default Kombi + Wegfarhrsperre>>>

Kombi(kombiinstrument) is your instrument cluster and wegfahrsperre should be your immobilizer. It could be that you had a loss of complete power that sometimes happens with older (almost empty) batteries.

Default Thanks....I just checked the battery connections and they are fine......

It is probably time for a new battery. Hopefully that is the only problem.

Default It might be the first thing I would change.>>

Batteries a fairly inexpensive. Low voltage on the battery does strange things to our cars.

Default If it's original from '02 it's definitely time. I'm fairly certain that's the cause>>

mine did the EXACT same thing when the battery was about to give up.

Default I will change it this weekend....Last October on a trip I was on the car was out in the...

cold all night and the battery was very week the next morning. I almost changed it then, but over the winter it has not shown any signs of begining to fail. Probably since it is in the garage every night, and does not get the full effect of the cold weather.
