It is in my logbook of the car. Dealer wrote in final price (including tax, title, all that stuff). Total price, out the door for a 1987 Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe was...:
$57,221
I am not certain whether this was MSRP, or if the dealer inflated the price, or if the original owner got a less-than-MSRP deal. However, you're pretty much right on the money.

Man did that car have its' problems though. Probably only had it 33 out of thos 36 months.
I am impressed w/the lack of problems to 15k so far. (Knocking on a big huge piece of Oak!)

Their value for a 2000 quattro, fully loaded, in private party sale is ~$28K. That works out to about 11% depreciation per year. If you assume the same rate over 10 years (big assumption right?), you end up with about $11K in value. That's no answer to your question, though. I think you wanted an opinion about what the depreciation rate will actually be in the future. And I have no clue about that.

and, the majority of depreciation takes place over the first two years, with the actually depreciation % dramatically dropping after that.
This is why the 36 month lease is so popular, it give one extra year for the dep/residual to balance out a little.
So if we took 11% over the first two years, and 2.75%(avg) over the next 8 years, we come up with a value of $20,749 after 10 years.
Assuming my calculations and depretiation ests are correct.
And this does not tke into account mods, limited avail in 10 yrs, and special value of TT!
