Very cheap fix for Radio Flap

When I finally go time to take apart my radio flap, I found that it was the little plastic pin that the flap rotates on that had broken. My brother-in-law cut a golf tee to the right size and popped it in and it is working great.
Make sure to put the larger side of the taper toward the center of the car and it shouldn't fall out as it is held in by the plastic trim.

My radio flap has been broken for some time now. Was yours broken that it wouldnt stay closed anymore? How did you take the flap apart? Dont you have to remove the whole center console?

I only had to remove the knee bumpers, the plastic that goes around the radio and A/C controls, and the ashtray. And the radio, of course. I didn't have to remove the glovebox.
Mine was only broken on the passenger side and it leaned to the side so that I had to wiggle it and hold both sides to lift and lower it.
There are a few levers that work off that one pivot, so it's probably that one of them isn't catching where it should be. There is no catch on the flap itself, it is all controlled by the levers.
