Default Vibration in steering wheel

Hey... just searched through forum about this but didn't find anything...

What are the normal (if any) vibration levels felt thru the steering wheel when
car is stopped and engine is running at idle?

I just had some major suspention work done on my car and I can feel quite a bit of vibration thru my steering wheel, I can't remember if it was like that before that, if I firmly hold the steering wheel I can feel any vibe.

thanks,

gabe

Did you get new wheels? Sounds like something is out of balance.

Default No vibration at a stop. Maybe a little tiny one when the compressor turns on and off.

They don't have something tight. Could be a safety issue. Take it back.

What kind of suspension work? Was there an accident?

Default If you have vibration in wheel or steering does not seem quite right after suspension work, then

installers might not have seated the shocks all the way into the carrier. This happened to me and while I did not really have a lot of vibration, the wheel moved around like it had not before the suspension change. Seating the shox as far as possible into the carrier did the trick. You might have your friendly Audi dealer take a quick look. Mine did and did not charge me for it. I took it back to the installer who redid his work.

Default Yes, had accident, most of the suspention (control arms etc) had to be replaced, doesnt feel as tigh

My suspention doesn't feel as tight or precise as it used to be especially in turns, i'm running stock everything....

I think i'll take it back, it's the kind of thing that's hard to explain but i know i'm not crazy it just doens't feel right...
