Default Right above the N75 is the same location as the intake

This data shows how effective the VTDA is at shielding the filter from heat vs running an exposed open element filter.

Default Speed up your cool down times

I use this setup (and another fan on the passenger front wheel) to cool the car down so I can wash it right after driving it. Only takes about 15 minutes to get the front end cool enough to wash, 30 minutes would probably get you down to ambient.

Default not really...

since the turbo is directly below it, heat rises, and the hood seal is removed for venting out near the windshield. That's probably right in the path of the most heat. Maybe attaching it to the outside of the VTDA would be most accurate since that's where it would be pulling air from if the heat shield wasn't there.

So you are 70 ambient at the start - how 'bout at the end (likely the same?)?

Default You guys go ahead and argue about it..>>

The purpose is not necessarily to show the differences between the VTDA and an open element, but to show the differences in the average underhood envoirnment and the VTDA. The location chosen is more above the mastercyclinder and not above the turbo. There are 50 other locations that could have been chosen. One consistant location should show the differences that feeds provide as well as rear compartment venting. I'm really not trying to prove anything here, but more to show folks what works best. Many already run a VTDA...If feeds and gasket changes show measurable differences they may want to make those changes..

Default Well....since the test only took 35 minutes..>>

I suspect 70 at the end too. It was a stable, pleasant day here...

Default My point was more to tomorrow/next week - likely not 70 every day there, as much as here ; )

Actually been in the 80's the last couple of weeks. Even up to the 90's for a couple days.

So can you stuff the datalogger in the barrel of a TTDA too?

Default Sure....

But I wouldn't expect a lot of differences when compared to the VTDA feed set-up. My previous data showed just a few degrees (done in C at the time) over ambient...(this with a probe in the TTDA). I think we're dealing with really small deltas here since the feeds are bringing in outside air... Probably not significant.
