Default Want to buy a TT? Here's 43...

If you're shopping for a low mileage TT, there are currently 43 of them available at AutoTrader.Com. This includes 3 of the 100 Neiman Marcus Edition TTs priced at $41,500, $47,000 and $49,000 respectively (hmmm, maybe I'm missing something). To take a look, click on the link below.

<a href="http://www.autotrader.com/findacar/results.jtmpl?model=TT&start_year=&end_year=&max_p rice=&distance=&form_status=FindACar_form&ac_afflt =none&address=92129&borschtid=18814417980917619404 &search_type=FindSale&make=AUDI&y=14&x=8&sort_t y

Default Look, there in the sky. Is it a plane, no its---Falling-out-of-the-skies TT's !!! (more)

I am not a math whiz. So be it. But even a 1% re-sale after such a recent release? Wow!

Default What is the average percent for resale for a car that has been released in the US for 6 months? more

Is 1% high. Is 1% low? How many people bought TTs just because they wanted to be the first one on their block to have one? Now that they have been there and done that they are moving on to the S2000 or whatever is on their list cool cars to say "I owned". The figure of 1% is meaningless without context.

The Auto Trader is a major publication. I don't believe that 43 sellers is statistically significant. With a "hot" new car like the TT, there are usually a few speculators who are trying to sell over list to make a profit. You'll also have buyers who lose their jobs, or are otherwise in over their head, or someone in the family gets pregnant, or they realize that a sports car is impractical for them, or they see something else (car, real estate, etc) that they would rather purchase and they can't afford both. I wouldn't read anything into this.

Default Re: There's 44 more for sale on...(more)

the Classified2000 website (16 for sale) and on the Yahoo website (28 for sale).

I wouldn't worry about these #s - when I bought my Viper GTS back in '96, it seemed every single one of them was for sale in the aftermarket.
