Default A Weekend At Willow Springs

I had my second track event with my TT at Willow Springs this weekend. My mods (APR Chip, H&R RSB, Falken RT-615 Tires) helped out quite a bit and I was able to do a 1:40.5 It was cold all weekend and rained during a few sessions. The TT is FUN in the wet passing all of those big hp rear wheel drive cars. Overall a really really fun weekend. Speed Ventures puts on a good track event.

Looking forward to more

Check out the video. I need to put a mic in the engine compartment or by the exhaust next time. There is too much wind noise to hear what is going on.

Default Old school rope and a tripod on the floor in front of the passenger seat :)

I have also used rope and a tripod behind the two front seats in the center of the car. look further down my page for some videos at the California Speedway.

Cool videos , Thanks for sharing.

Interesting how you closed on the M3 in the high speed sweepers , but lost ground in the tighter corners. (acceleration disadvantage?????) I have noticed the same occurrence at Barber. The high speed corners are my favorite section of that track. ( Cause that's where I catch people.)

Your vid #s 2 and 3 felt better to me than #1. In # 1 It kept feeling as if you turned in and apexed a bit early . Makes one run out of track at the exit. At least in an Audi it does.

It is addictive is it not????

Default the M3 is a bit lighter

I think that because the M3 was a bit lighter and Nick had a better line than me in the tighter spots he was faster in that section of the track.

My TT was very nicely balanced in the longer higher speed turns like 2 and 8 so I was able to carry more speed through those turns than many other cars out there in my group. I was taking turn 2 at around 82 and holding 110 through turn 8. I caught most cars in those two turns.

Just my thoughts and observations. I am far from being an experienced track driver - This was only my second track weekend.

And yes, if it wasn't for the cost of tires and race fuel, I'd be doing this every weekend!
