Default well i feel a little bit stuck (Muffler rant)

some of you might have seen that post about the borla muffler i won for my FWD 180TT that i thought might be a scam because i won it for only 100 bucks and he seemed very shady... Well the exhaust made it here yesterday, everything was perfect and was just what i bought(muffler only, no pipe that goes to the resonator). I called borla to ask them how much i could buy that piece for and they told me they only sell the whole kit(of course) but i wouldnt need that pipe and it should bolt right up.. So i wander down to the local muffler shop(wichita kansas, the guy didnt even know what my car was haha).. I get it on the lift and he immedieately tells me that it wont fit at all. Says that if he cuts the resonator pipe off and welds this exhaust in that it would end up putting the tailpipe against the bumper. I'm no expert but when i looked up in there it looked like it would fit. So i'm asking you guys, am i pretty much stuck with a pretty muffler or are there possible better shops that could easily fabricate a piece or bend a piece to make this work?? Thanks for listening and any help!!

Sounds like you need to find a better muffler shop....

Default Leave that A$$ negative feedback for false advertising!

Then go to a better shop and have them hoook the thing up.

Best of luck man!

Default If it helps, I can post some pics of the stock setup from underneath...

as well as the Borla. I think I have them on my PC at home. May help to visualize how things ought to fit?

Default Question, is your 225 cat back the same as a 180?

I have a 180 quattro cat back , single outlet though that was previsouly on my car before i switched to dual. If it's the same (which I don't know if it is)Ill be willing to part ways with it! going to work... email me!

Default A competant shop should be alble to make that work without cutting any stock stuff.

Just make a new pipe to go between the muffler & the cat.
