I agree that he lens does cause some distortion across the image...
However, that distortion would be consistent from the lens center to the edges.
The fact that all body parts on the two cars shown align from the door centers out to the farthest wheel wells denies the claim that this is all lens distortion. If said effect was at work, the body parts would start to misalign gradually from the center of the door to the ends.
IMHO the difference in camera lens and format does not explain the significant front overhang that is apparent. :-)
