Default The stock air box is a closed system with a snorkel fed charge chamber...

below the filter. Engine heat is kept to a minimum. The cooler the intake air the more combustible a air charge is thus holding more power potential. If the cone gets in more and colder charge air over the entire rev range than stock, then that equals a power gain. Significance of that gain is dependent on the increase. So, if a cone sucks faster but hotter air, all you get is a cool sound and higher engine temps. I did dynos on my ex-400HP 944 TS and only when there was a specially fabricated airbox with cold snorkel feed did I get higher dyno gains via my MAF. I lost power on the dyno when I went from a snorkel fed stock airbox with K&N to a cone K&N kit in the engine compartment. Zucz has done this route before on the Porsche 996 powerflo kits and there was 2 versions with the later fixing HP loss from the first. He has extensive experience with this design and most likely hasn't made the same mistake twice. Show me first, and then I buy.

Default The snorkle end is closed off with a hose going out the fneder . . .

The stock cover will fit over the kit.

Default Mike was at PES yesterday as well and got his Garrett chip and the same intake . . .

He still has the stock exhaust. I have driven quite a few chipped 225's both stock exhaust and aftermarket. All I have to say is the intake does seem to be creating more power. How much? I don't have a clue. All I know is Mike 225TTR felt faster than just a chipped 225TTQ! We will be able to actually do some G-tech testing possibly next weekend with a variety of cars. Eric and Doug have 225TTQ's with the SAME chip as Mike. Eric is also getting the LLTek intake and we can then compare his car to Doug's.

We should have some apples to apples numbers very shortly.

Between the sound of the intake and the sound of the Forge DV, the TT actually comes alive! It is sounding more and more like a sports car!

Looks like my custom fit for 944TS, but not like the one in the picture for the TT.
