We've done just about every mod under the sun to our TTs. Why hasn't anyone done?...

Seems like maybe the aliens could be disabled and their pumps used to mist the ICs, but I'm just speculating.
Aliens or not, I'm guessing intercooler misters would make for some decent gains in performance. I'd love to see someone attempt this. Below is a link to an article that I originally referenced several years ago.

Intercooler Misters

I remember that there was an issue because for it to be completely efficient it had to "know" when you were going to accelerate and mist the ICs right before. It had to do with heat soaking. I also remember that the kit this person used worked with the throttle (probably not drive-by-wire) to create an intelligent "pattern" so as to know when to mist the ICs.
Quite complicated.... a lot of reference to Rally cars.
If you want do a search on the A4 forum, I think the handle for the person doing it was "MC".
Anyway, I'm definately not an expert (at all), just laying down what I remember.

... but I put a system in my S4 with mixed results. No real downside, but not consistently better than before the installation, either.
I suspect if I lived in a significantly hotter clime, I would have had significantly different results.

When I wash the car and get the ICs really wet, the car goes like a bat out of hell. Maybe that's a bit overstated, but the bottom line is that it is noticably faster.
Would the IC misters accomplish the same thing, more or less? I can't see why not if it's done right. It will be interesting to see if that's the case.
