What is it with this car and rocks?

Not only do I have paint chipping away in the front, but sometimes I will see a rock shoot straight up from the front of my car and hit my windshield and / or roof. Does this happen to anyone else here?

I've had gravel land INSIDE my car, with the top down. It looked like it came from the front wheel

area. It was pretty strange!!
