Ever seen the optical illusion with 2 equally sized circles, one within a much larger one...
...and one within a barely larger one? It works the same with color. When you view a color such a green, which is made of yellow and blue, but you put it in front of a domainating background of a much 'purer' green, the blue of the blue and yellow will stand out.

That's a bit overgeneralized

The only sound way to trully judge a color is to take it a compare it with a neutral grey. Here's that car against a 50% neutral gray and it is definately blue, not green. You will get slight variations in the hue depending on what is around it, but there won't be as drastic a change as what you are stating here.

It's Blue
Noy sure and others here are smarter, but these pictures are the early press photos and at teh time, there were only three colors in production: silver, black, and blue. As it is not black, it is not silver, it must be demim blue.

Desert Green...(but the pic has been heavily photoshopped)
I have a Desert Green, and the color changes depending on how the sun hits it. The original color of the car shown is definitely Desert Green, though. If you import it into your own photoeditor and zoom in on the paint only, the 'green-ness' becomes more obvious.

Yeah, fakey.
I agree, and there a bunch of clues: the misplaced shadow on the ground, the way the car looks like it's running on the edge of the road, the odd little skew below the front bumper, the black outline on the hood and windshield (probably the most telling indication that the car was originally photographed somewhere else), and the fact that *all* of the background is blurred equally (the image has a pretty deep horizon - you should be able make out more detail in the back). Plus, the spin of the wheels looks suspiciously like they're a result of the Photoshop radial blur feature. Also, note that the Audi logo on the wheels doesn't appear to be blurry much at all.
If these are Audi promo pictures, it was probably easier for them to take a picture of the TT while stopped, then composite it into the background they wanted.
And I'm pretty sure that's Denim Blue.

Here is a picture of mine (photoshopped of course), but it shows the blue/green-ness.

If you look where the reflection of the sky hits the car, the color looks more blue than green. Near the back, whre the sun hits directly, it looks green.
The colors of the car were not modified (just the background), and on my monitor is matches the actual color.
Rick.
