What is the difference in DOT3 and DOT5 brake fluid?

Default so should I bleed the brakes.then add dot5.1 and flush it right away to get rid of possible moisture

in the system?

Default from my understanding, the DOT # indicates compatibility with components in the system...

meaning that it won't break down seals and other components. Our cars use DOT 4, I would research it very carefully before switching to something else.

It does but, more importantly, DOT number also indicates wet and dry boiling points.

Default not necessarily, I run MOTUL DOT 4 with a 600 deg boiling point...

I have another bottle of Gunk High Temp DOT 4 fluid sitting in my garage from before I went to MOTUL.

It only indicates a minimum boiling point. Thats not saying some don't exceed the standard
