Well, the basic idea is---->
That your diverter valve is recirculating air that is taken off the turbo exit pipe back into the inlet side of the turbo.....problem is, that air is HOT.
With the DV relo kit, the air that is recirculated comes after the intercooler(s) and before the throttle body and thus, recirculates COOLED air back to the inlet side of the turbo.
You are also relieving the the compressed air at the throttle body, which is the point of obstruction, rather than all the way upstream at the turbo exit pipe.
