Default What do you think about the TT's value:price ratio?

Sure, the TT is one of the most beautiful cars on the street (both exterior and interior).
But, for the price, does it hold up against competition like the G35 coupe, the 350Z, or the Mazda Rx-8 coming out for value?
List some reasons for why someone should get the TT and not another similarly priced car so I won't feel like I got ripped off if I get one.

Thanks in advance

Default Have you sat in any of those yet?

interior styling (and material quality), exterior styling (Z is almost as nice), performance vs the G35 anyway.

The RX-8 is one ugly machine imo.

Oh yea, big one quattro, a deal breaker if you live in cold/wet areas of the country.

Default How do you define value?

It's totally subjective.

Do you want out-of-the box speed and performance? The Z/G35 are faster, and handle pretty damn well. I'm sure the RX-8 will be in the same league. With a couple thousand dollars in mods, the TT will spank (or at least compete with) all of the above.
Do you want maximum hp/dollar? Buy a Mustang Cobra.

This question is asked quite frequently, and it's really a matter of what's important to you. It's all about what you want from a car, about how you want to go fast or how you look in the car (or whatever).

I would say that if you're looking for raw performance without modifications, then you'll be dissapointed with the TT. But if your list of reasons is more complex (as mine and many people on the board's was), then you just have to see how the TT matches your objectives.I just bought my TT in October, so I went through the same questioning process. I love my car, and I can't wait to mod it. I have no buyers' remorse.

Default Drive them and decide

Sounds to me like you are pre-disposed not to get "ripped off" and get something other than a TT. If you can't decide for yourself, perhaps you should ask your parents. If you have specific questions, ask away. Otherwise, a quick search of previous posts on this forum will give you past discussions on the other cars you mentioned vs the TT.

Default Value = Quality/Price

Well you asked. Sure it is a subjective rating but if you get low quality for a high price that would equal low value. High quality for a low price equals high value. Now define quality and you will have your answer grasshopper.

Default maybe, if Quality = (Smiles/Hour)

sometimes the value of something has nothing to do with cost or performance or construction or ...

I get a lot of value staring at the TT while it sits in the driveway, or driving it down the highway or plowing through the snow, or ... and when I'm doing all of those things, I don't think at all about how much it cost. Some people count beans, but I'm just counting how much enjoyment it delivers. Pick the formula that works for you...
