What does the 'Imola' part of paint colors mean?

In the early days of racing in Europe, each country had a paint scheme associated with it.

The liveries were used to identify each country's cars. Thus we have "British Racing Green," "French Racing Blue," "German Racing Silver (sometimes white)," etc. Names like Goodwood, Nogaro, and Avus refer to classic racing circuits in Britan, France and Germany, respectively.

The new BMW magazine has a 330i "performance package" in Imola Red on the cover.

Looks great in the pictures. Probably one of the best reds I've seen...

but I haven't seen it in person. Where did you find the M Coupe?

Located it off the BMW search engine.

Concord, SF. There's another for sale in Petaluma (sp?) that's for sale via private seller which is that silver color.

Both are 2000's with under 10,000 miles.
