What does TT stand for? Tourist Trophy or Twin Turbo?

According to the French TT clan's FAQ, Audi originally chose TT to mean Technologie and Tradition.
Only later did they make the link to the Tourist Trophy. This enabled them to give the car a sportier image.
The Tourist Trophy is now a motorcycle race only. But cars used to race there, including some Auto Union and NSU - the brands which merged to create Audi.
NSU had a model called TT in 1965, and a sportier one called TTS in 1967.
