What effect does turning off your esp have on your power, if any?

I had read something about having better launching but I don't see how that is possible if you're taking away traction controls.

...a moderate amount of wheelspin is better for acceleration, handling, and overall performance. Even with quattro, small amounts of wheelspin are possible, though inherently our cars are nearly foolproof. Car control with wheelspin requires skill, however; the advantage of ESP is that it allows underexperienced drivers to overcook it in turns and on low-grip launches without losing control - ESP takes over and keeps the car within its limits. Therefore, with ESP off you get maximum power delivery but you have to know how to handle it.

By the time I was able to get to the cars to clean 'em up for pictures we were running late for the Huskies game. So I only got a few bad pics, and wasted a beautiful, warm, sunny driving day. And then went to a sad, wretch of a ballgame.
Now the digicam link is out of commission so I STILL have to wait for pictures. I do have that great rear shot with the lens flare for my desktop photo, though... thanks! I PhotoShopped the colors to be more vivid on my machine, too. Such a cool shot!
