I can't think many people would want the 225 with the old 1.8 when the new 2003 TT's will have a v6 starting at 240 hp and going to 350.

The article as typed reads early next year the current TT gets a v6
Early next year the current TT will get a 3.2 litre V6 and an innovative twin-clutch manual gearbox. This will be carried over to the new model and the V6 will come in three strengths: 240, 280 and 350 bhp, the latter with a turbo. The cheaper Tango won't get the V6 engines and there'll also be a 136 bhp entry-level version.
This seems to indicate that the TT gets a v6 in 2003. In 2004/5 the new TT comes out - and the Tango replaces the current TT.

Well don't always believe what you read in magazines - even CAR which has
very good sources. Most of what they talk about is in EUROPE - not in the US. Smart money is on an announcement in Geneva in March 2003 - which means that IF something is released in Europe - that the US will get it as a late 2004 model (read spring 2004) and most likely in very limited quantities.
